PRIMARY COLORS

What color is blood?  It is clear, the color of tears, the color of nothing.
Nothingness is in blood.
That is why if you bleed enough, you die.  All the nothingness leaves you
and you become something... that cannot live.

What color are tears?  They are red, the color of anger, the color of love.
Emotion lives in tears.
That is why if you cry enough, you feel numb.  All the feelings left you
and you become empty... cold, and aloof.

What color is hunger?  It is black, dark as night.  Hunger eats you up,
the way darkness eats the light, reflecting nothing.
That is why if you are hungry, your stomach growls.  It is afraid of the dark
and the hunger is very, very black.

What color is pain?  It is bone white.  Your face turns pale, and your eyes
show more white when you hurt.
That is why you feel the anguish when you look at someone else suffering;
Pain reflects pain, like white reflects light.

What color is sorrow?  The color of the ocean.  Salt, and brine, and the cry of gulls
are sorrow's essence.  Paint a picture,
in blood, pain, sorrow, hunger, and tears; is there anything you cannot reveal?
Paint it in primary colors.
