Leigh walked toward the cave with a huge new bag filled with books over one shoulder. She should have slept the night before instead of stargazed, but she wasn't expecting to come back early either. She got the urge to head back at six that morning, so she obeyed, thinking it was some weird Gift no one had mentioned. Diane slipped out from the cave as the Stargazer cub approached, and smiled briefly at her. "You look awfully tired."

Leigh walked past her, smiling and tossed the big bag down with her other things. She sat down heavily and blew some hair out of her eyes before looking up at Diane and smiling again. "Uhh." the cub almost blushed, "Yeah."

'Going to try to get some sleep, then?" The Child of Gaia asked.

"Maybe, it might throw off my sleep schedule. If. I. had. one." Leigh pulled back the hood of her newly retrieved hooded T-shirt and patted the space next to her. "I'd rather talk to you."

"Oh?" Diane smiled more sincerely, "Sure." She sat down beside the young Stargazer. "What should we talk about?"

Leigh tugged down the tangle that her hair had turned into over the course of the previous night and half day of walking. "Anything happen around here yesterday?" She didn't see anything wrong with any of the present pack, and wondered why she felt the need to return so urgently.

"I'm sure it did. not that everyone tells me things." Diane laughed softly. "I, er, " she paused to scratch her ear, then whispered to Leigh, "Well I met someone interesting." And continued in a normal tone of voice, "Ceallach was gone a while."

Leigh stretched her arms over her head and gave up on her hair until later, she glanced up at the whisper and murmured back to her quietly, "Oh yeah? Who's that?"

"Who? Some kind of lupus... I think maybe he was captured as a cub by weaver types. He can't talk too well. I'm teaching him a little. Talking to people, 101."

Leigh chuckled, "That took me a while too, I'm sure he'll pick it up."

The Galliard chuckled as well, "I'm sure. What did you get up to yesterday yourself?"

"Get up to?" Leigh blinked slightly, wondering if Diane was so perceptive to know what she had been doing. "Oh, uhh. Dinner, dancing." The Philodox turned her head to one side and pushes back the tangle again to show Diane her new tragus hoop. "Piercing. Romantic, huh?" She grinned at Diane, who made a face at it.

"Dinner and dancing sounds really nice. Why in Gaia's name would you want to do that to your ear though?"

The cub covered her ear again, "It's a fad," she shrugged, not really knowing how to explain the desire to mutilate her ears. "That or my nose. Bullrings are popular."

Diane wrinkled her nose, then touched it with her hand as is covering it protectively. "Glasswalkers do that kind of thing, Leigh. I thought you'd be more sensible." She shook her head, then laughed.

"I kinda wanted to try out my Resist Pain too; I hadn't had a chance. It will probably grow out or something."

"Did the gift work?"

Leigh smirked and cleared her throat to cover it, "Very well, actually, I didn't expect it too."

"It's always kind of a surprise when they work the first time. I know I didn't expect the Elemental gift to really stop that rolling silver monstrosity. But it did... thank you Gaia.

Leigh stretched her legs out and crossed her ankles. "I'll second that. Though it kinda reminded me of a carnival ride I used to go on when I was little." She smiled, Diane returned it.

"No wonder you're so tired, then, you must've been dancing for hours and hours..."

Leigh blushed slightly, "Well, Sinfi wouldn't let me drive, so we had to walk everywhere." The cub nodded to herself, as if Diane would believe it if she did, "So nothing desperately important is going on here. I got the strangest urge to come back this morning. way too early."

"Something might be going to happen soon. I know Niko wants to go to that circus. I told him bout my dream." Diane lowered her voice to a whisper, "Didn't tell him about yours, but I still think you're being silly about that."

Leigh glanced at her, "Well. Yeah. I'll get over it."

The Child of Gaia nodded and paused for a second before speaking again, "Leigh? Can I ask you an awfully personal question?"

The teen winced reflexively, but answered her honestly, "Sure."

"Uh." Diane paused, "Nevermind, sorry. I shouldn't pry and all."

"It's OK, just a little involuntary response, go ahead." She smiled encouragingly.

"It's about you and Sinfi. I mean, I know you're both... well... practically humans for all intents and purposes.. but... I don't know exactly how the protocol of it is... but in Garou terms... are you and he mates?"

Leigh pondered the question silently for a moment. Did Diane mean sex, or love? "Well. I don't know the Garou terms all that well either. I don't know that we're dating." She shrugged.

"Dinner and dancing is a date, isn't it?"

"Yeah, but that's just one." She was still puzzled over their situation herself.

"If some other man asked you on a date would you go?"

"Hypothetically -- Because no one would do that -- probably not." Leigh stretched her leg a little, "I guess in terms of mating mating we are." She shrugged.

Diane blinked, "Okay. It wasn't good?"

The Stargazer smiled, "It was great, I'm just under reacting because I'm tired." Leigh chuckled softly, Diane made a sound like she understood, but if Leigh had been more alert she would know her friend didn't quite get it.

"You should rest then. Especially if we're going to that circus soon."

Leigh groaned softly, "Oh, that will be fun. Maybe I'll take a balloon this time, eh?" Leigh remembered the balloon one of the little boys had taken, and how when it popped it showered him in blood. Leigh shifted her weight to lie down with her head on the book bag. "Thanks for talking to me."

"I like talking to you," Diane stood up. "If you sleep through the next meal I'll make sure Rosie saves you some, ok?"

Leigh winked her blue eye at Diane, "I like talking to you too." Leigh pulled her hood down over her eyes; the older woman gave her a worried look, the cub was too tired, things could really go wrong, she thought. "That would be great, thanks Diane."

"You bet. Sleep tight."

Leigh rolled onto her side, "Thanks."
